Maine Centers for Women, Work, and Community (WWC) is a statewide economic development and training organization committed to helping women succeed in the Maine economy and achieve economic security for themselves and their families. Maine Department of Economic and Community Development serves as the umbrella organization to the offices of Tourism, Business Development, the International Trade Center, Community Development, Film and Innovation and Science. Maine Office of Community Development is a division within the Department of Economic & Community Development (DECD). The primary focus of OCD is the administration of the HUD funded Community Development Block Grant Program. Additional areas of program responsibility include the Municipal Investment Trust Fund Program, Home Repair Network, Kennebec Valley Home Replacement Program and provision of regional technical assistance and training. During FY 2004 OCD will oversee a budget exceeding $27 million in federal and state funds.

The Maine Women's Fund supports political, economic, and social equality for Maine women and girls. Dress for Success (Southern Maine Chapter)

offers services to help low-income women enter the workforce and stay employed. Each Dress for Success client receives one suit when she has a job interview and a week's worth of separates when she gets the job.

Kennebec Valley Community Action Program (KVCAP) is a non-profit community action program which has been providing services to the people of Kennebec and Somerset counties for the past 40 years. During this period hundreds of thousands of residents have accessed the services of our various programs to assist them in their struggle to overcome the barriers of poverty. KVCAP remains commited to the citizens of Central Maine and to our goal of helping all our clients to become, and to remain, economically and socially self-sufficient.
