The Maine Women's Business Center's Southern Maine Program was founded in 1995 through funding from the Small Business Administration's Office of Women's Business Ownership. The Main office for the Southern Maine program is in Portland, however, there are outreach locations in Augusta, Lewiston, and Wiscasset as well. Staff offer free one-on-one counseling both in person at our main office and outreach locations and over the phone/online to individuals seeking to start a business and those who are currently in business in York, Cumberland, Sagadahoc, Lincoln, Kennebec, and Knox Counties. In addition, we offer various workshops both in person in these geographic regions as well as online.
