  This full-day seminar will introduce Fundamentals of Accounting and the use of QuickBooks software as a tool to collect financial information for tax reporting and basic financial management. Through a hands-on lab we will set up a company; set up customers and vendors, prepare invoices and receive payments; record and pay bills; create financial statements and reports.   Note: Participants have the option of working on their own Quickbooks company and may bring laptops with QuickBooks installed if they wish.  Mac users may participate but the content is based on QuickBooks for PC.   Prerequisite: Familiarity with Personal Computers and Windows-based software.   As a business owner, knowing your business by the numbers is important for growth and success.  In this workshop, we will cover basic information business owners should always pay attention to: where the money comes from, where it goes, and how to use financial information to make business decisions.  We will discuss cash flow projections using some real scenarios and show how monitoring your financial information can help you assess your next steps-expansion, financing, etc.

  Financial Statements: Managing By the Numbers is designed for women business owners who have been in business for at least six months and who want to boost their financial assessment skills.  Others are welcome.

  Cost: $15.00

  While available to everyone, this workshop is included in the MWBEP and is free to program participants.
