Rim Counties Women's Business Program
The Maine Women's Business Center's Rim Counties Program was founded in 2006 through funding from the Small Business Administration's Office of Women's Business Ownership. The Rim Counties Program serves people who are interested in starting a business or who are currently in business in Aroostook, Piscatiquis, Penobscot, Washington, Hancock, Waldo, parts of Knox (namely island communities), Oxford, Somerset, and Franklin Counties. The Main office of the Rim Counties Program is in Wiscasset and we have offices in two Rim Counties locations - Farmington and Machias - as well as a number of outreach locations. Though we have limited physical office locations, our business counselors work virtually and over the phone as well to offer free one-on-one business counseling to people in the most rural areas of the state. A key feature of the Rim Counties Program is our online workshops on a variety of business topics.
